A remnant of San Francisco's Barbary Coast past is visible for those in the know

Once a bar, Pawtrero Bath House and Feed Co. inhabits the historic building with a colorful history that stands on the northeast corner of Mississippi and Mariposa.

Head inside through the swinging picket gate and you'll discover the bar is still fully intact. In fact all that's missing is the liquor, music ... and entertainment.

Word has it the show was a lively one and that the ladies danced on the bar to literally drum up business. Look closely and you can see their heel-prints still visible, embossed upon the bar-top.

The Garden of Earthly Delights, a bar & music venue moved into the space in the 1960's and '70s, and at that time also served as the villains home in the 1978 movie Foul Play, starring Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn. During the filming they called it The Venus Pleasure Garden Massage Parlor--with a sign hanging on the building’s corner.
