This island oasis is getting a makeover with community help

Like many swaths of green San Francisco, the Carolina Street Median was planted and became a garden oases in the 1920s when Potrero's hills were developed.

The plantings have reached the end of their life and now the community has come together to rebuild and replant the park for the next century.
